The firm was founded in 1981 by the Destin Real Estate pioneer, Dewitt "Sparky" Lovelace. Clayton Bonjean joined Mainsail Realty as an agent in 1998 and became the Broker/Owner in 2011.

Clayton received a degree in Marketing from the University of Mississippi "Ole Miss" and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. After schooling, he worked as an Account Executive, Director of Sales, and Operations Manager for Checkcare Systems in Birmingham, Alabama. In 1997, Clayton moved to Destin Florida to manage the family business, Lovelace Interiors. In 1998 he received his Real Estate License and has been involved in many successful Real Estate transactions. Clayton is a top producer in Okaloosa and Walton Counties and is currently performing in the top 1% of all Emerald Coast Realtors. Clayton has successfully closed over 500 real estate transactions.
Clayton is the broker and owner, but unlike most, he likes to get out into the field and work with buyers and sellers. Clayton loves the Real Estate business and is not afraid to work very hard for his clients.
